Another wonderful landscape, painted in oil on canvas, from the famous artist. The plot is quite simple - a rural landscape depicting the courtyard of one of the many village houses. But as simple as it is, it is just as sweet and touching. It is amazing how accurately Levitan manages to convey his emotions through his works. Through this picture, the author’s love for the nature of Russia, for rural life, for the clean and fragrant air of country life is clearly felt.

The picture was very solid, capacious and rich in content. It is difficult to divide it into the front, middle and background. However, a bright accent was made by the author on the ground trampled across the yard, forming a kind of path for passage. At the same time, it is shown blurred, sometimes overgrown with grass and quite dirty. Probably, this was done in order to indicate the naturalness, the naturalness of the depicted courtyard.

The woodpile of firewood near the fence with two large planks neatly tidied to the drovnik also catches the eye. A little further, closer to the background of the picture, you can see the neighboring houses behind the fence. And in the distance, beyond the hedge, a river is guessed, which converges on the horizon with a forest belt on the opposite bank.

Trees and shrubs growing in the courtyard and behind the fence are very animated. They are written as if swaying from the breeze. It is as if the foliage is noisy and thin trunks are swinging. By grass, the author covered almost the entire interior of the courtyard, with the exception of the path already described.

The color scheme of the picture includes a combination of different shades of green, yellow, brown and gray. The gray sections of the road sometimes turn completely black, but this does not spoil, weigh down or overshadow the overall impression of what he saw.
