Pushkin in the village of Mikhailovsky. This canvas depicts a frame from a fairly long period of residence of Alexander Pushkin in the village of Mikhailovsky, which affected his work.
The picture takes us to the large bright room of the house of Alexander Sergeyevich. The composition is built in the direction from the corner of the room. In the background corner of the room is a tiled fireplace. Probably, the weather outside the window is very warm - the fireplace is not flooded, ash and ash are not visible, most likely summer or autumn. The room is not crowded with furniture and interior details, however, it looks beautiful and expensive. Behind the screen you can see a shelf filled with books. An icon hangs lonely on the left wall. From the window, which did not fall into the composition, the rays of the sun penetrate into the room. They illuminate the icon and the space of the room behind Pushkin.
Arina Rodionovna sits on the sofa in the background. In the hands of her knitting but she broke away from needlework in order to carefully listen to the verses of Alexander Sergeyevich. She seemed to freeze and hold her breath - so she worries about her pupil.
In the center of the composition, of course, is the poet. He holds a stack of paper in his hands and recites his verses. A man is sitting in a high blue chair beside him. One cannot guess who exactly this gentleman is. But Alexander Sergeyevich clearly expects him to evaluate his work. For him, the opinion of this gentleman is important.
A man in a chair hears Pushkin’s poems. By the pleased expression of his face, you can understand that he enjoys the work of Pushkin. The nanny's face has a barely noticeable smile - she also took over the mood of the guest of their home and is sincerely glad for the successful outcome of the meeting. And Alexander Sergeyevich continued to create - after all, it was in Mikhailovsky that most of his works were written.
